This vaccine (Prevnar vaccine in addition to Pneumovax vaccine) is recommended for everyone over the age of 65. As of February, Medicare covers seniors for free, provided it is at least 1 year since a previous pneumonia vaccine. It only takes 5 minutes and you will need to fill out a form that is available at the Front Desk.  Vaccinations will be given on a first-come, first-served basis at the Madison Senior Center.  The deadline to sign up for the Tuesday, April 14 vaccination (10:30 – 11:30 am) is Wednesday, April 8.  Call 266-6581 to register.
