Poet Lenore McComas Coberly is native to West Virginia, but currently lives in Madison. In her new book, dedicated to her late husband, Coberly writes of an “ordinary late afternoon” when she was making bread and butter pickles. He set aside some bookkeeping he was doing, came into the kitchen, and gave her a kiss. The poem is called Ours. Coberly’s writing turns her grief into love and bread & butter pickles! She will read from For I Am Mountainborn on Tuesday, June 9 at 1 pm.
