Join Aldo Leopold Nature Center Environmental Educator Melissa Kesling and Josh Seibel for a free, family-friendly guided hike as we Listen for Owls. Discover the owls that call Madison home – huge Great Horned Owls, medium-sized Barred Owls, and tiny Screech Owls – and can be found throughout the city in parks and private yards. What do they eat? What is an owl pellet? Do they always sleep during the day? When do they make their nests? Join us for an easy walk on the paths at Aldo Leopold Nature Center and Edna Taylor Conservation Park with stops along the way to listen for the distinctive hoots and calls of owls. If we're fortunate, we may just get to see an owl sitting quietly above on a big tree limb.
