A limited number of spots are available on the waitlist. • Join experts from REI - Madison , Madison Nordic Ski Club  (Madnorski) and Central Cross Country Skiing  (CXC) to learn the basics of classic cross-country skiing. Three, 2-hour classes are offered on Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2 during Madison Winter Festival at Elver Park.

The two-hour class will teach and demonstrate all the basic classic skiing skills needed for beginners and novice skiers to get started in the sport.
A limited amount of equipment will be provided as part of the class - on a first-come, first-served basis. Equipment rentals are available from the Elver Park shelter at $9 for adults and includes ski, boots, poles and a daily cross-country ski permit. A ski pass is not required to attend the class but for those wanting to test their newly learned ski-skills, they will need a daily or annual permit. It is recommended that you bring your own equipment if you have it. 

This class is designed for ages 14 years and older.
