Zoom Meeting Registration Link
In 2024, the City of Madison is proposing to widen the sidewalk on the north side of Mineral Point Road between the Beltline Hwy. and Whitney Way as part of the East-West Bus Rapid Transit project.
The proposed project would include replacing the current 5-foot wide sidewalk with an 8 to 10-foot wide sidewalk, relocating or replacing street infrastructure such as traffic signal poles and street lighting as needed, and where necessary installing new curb and gutter.
The wider sidewalk will be more suitable for the variety of users which include bicyclists. In order to maintain as many street trees as possible along Mineral Point Rd., some of the widening is anticipated to take place outside the street right-of-way and will require a small amount of temporary or permanent property acquisition from your property.
The City will be holding a public input meeting at the date and time listed below held virtually. At this meeting, City staff will present information on project and the property acquisition process including your rights, processes and timeframes, project schedule, construction information, etc.
