Globe University Partners with Animal Rescue Organizations to Host Adoption Fair and Fundraiser
'Adopt Around the Globe'™ event aims to connect homeless pets with loving families
MADISON, Wis. (March 22, 2014)
The Humane Society of the United States estimates animal shelters nationwide care for six to eight million dogs and cats every year, half of whom are euthanized.
To help raise awareness of this issue, the Globe University Madison-East campus has partnered with local animal rescues to host a pet adoption fair. Globe University veterinary technology students will demonstrate proper teeth brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and how to prevent fleas and heartworm. A silent auction to raise money for Wisconsin Vest-A-Dog, an organization that provides bulletproof and stab-proof vests for police dogs will also be held. Other participating organizations include:
Dane County Friends of Ferals
Darling Pet Rescue
Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin
Hill's Science Diet
Little Orphan Animal Rescue
Madison Area Herpetological Society
