The 18th Annual Book Club Café features Julie Schumacher, author of the novel Dear Committee Members.

The Book Club Café is an annual Friends tradition - an event where book club members and other book lovers gather to celebrate reading and Madison's public libraries. Attendees enjoy catered coffee, tea and desserts from Chocolaterian Cafe; a book gift basket raffle; and a complimentary Book Club Favorites booklet.

About Julie Schumacher
Ms. Schumacher is a faculty member in the Creative Writing Program and the Department of English at the University of Minnesota. She writes short stories and novels, including The Body Is Water, The Unbearable Book Club for Unsinkable Girls, Black Box and, most recently, Dear Committee Members. She lives in St. Paul, MN.
