City Engineering Crews Rapidly Respond to Locate, Remove Blockage

The City of Madison had a discharge of untreated wastewater from a private sanitary access structure located on private property and Railroad right-of-way, at the western end of Badger Road.  The discharge was detected on Wednesday, March 19, at approximately 11:00 a.m. Within 30 minutes of discovery, City Engineering crews located and removed the blockage to prevent further discharge.

Prior to the City crew’s arrival on-site, untreated wastewater entered the ditch line in the Rail Road right-of-way. The majority of wastewater was from a vehicle wash bay and was absorbed into the ground.
