On Saturday, June 14, 2014, the City of Madison is planning to begin construction on North Street, between East Washington Avenue and Commercial Avenue.  The project will consist of new asphalt pavement, concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main and driveway aprons.
 
During construction, North Street will be closed to through-traffic. However, East Johnson Street at North Street will remain open to traffic. At times during off-peak hours, traffic on East Johnson Street will have to cross North Street under direction of flaggers.
 
The North Street Reconstruction project is expected to be completed by mid-October.
 
Metro Transit will have several routes detoured off of North Street during construction.  Those route changes can be found on the Metro Transit Detours webpage:

All businesses in the area will remain open, and pedestrian access will be maintained to all businesses.
