Blockage located and removed within 30 minutes

The City of Madison had a discharge of untreated wastewater from a sanitary access structure located in the public right-of-way in the 7800 block of West Oakbrook Circle.  The discharge was reported on Tuesday, August 19, at approximately 7:30 p.m.  Within half an hour, City Engineering crews had located and removed the blockage to prevent further discharge.

Prior to the City crew's arrival, untreated wastewater entered the storm water system.  The responding crew cleaned the affected storm sewer, removing all wastewater before any wastewater discharged to surface waters.
