MSCR Community Learning Centers

MSCR- Madison School & Community Recreation

MSCR provides afterschool programs in 16 MMSD elementary schools and two community centers. Some schools have both Safe Haven and Community Learning Center (CLC) programs, and others only have one.

Community Learning Center programs (CLCs) provide afterschool academic support and enrichment activities for all students living in the school attendance area who meet the grant criteria for academic support. CLC staff design engaging activities to complement children's school day academic programs while having fun. Registration takes place on-site.

Safe Haven provides daily afterschool childcare on-site at a variety of MMSD schools.  Safe Haven serves K-5th grade students and offers a variety of educational, recreational and social activities for children at their home school.  Registration is completed at each site on a first-come, first-served basis.

MSCR offers fee waivers. Most programs at CLC's are free. Safe Haven childcare has financial assistance-contact office for details.
