The 2013 reservations Madison Parks shelters and the Gates of Heaven will begin November 15, 2012.

Madison Parks has 20 shelters nestled in Madison's unique and scenic parks. Each shelter has a restroom, electricity and water and are an ideal location for your graduation party, family reunion, company picnic or wedding.

There is a high demand for Park shelters so don't wait to reserve your date!

Reservation Lottery System
A number lottery system will be used that morning to ensure fairness for the patrons wishing to reserve the more popular shelters and summer weekend dates. Numbered tickets will be distributed beginning at 7:30a.m., with the drawing to begin promptly at 8:00a.m. Phone-in reservations will begin at 11:00a.m. Because of the lottery system, it will not be in anyone's best interest to arrive at the Madison Parks office before 7:30a.m.

Only ONE ticket per reservation is allowed. This is for fairness to all of the other people trying to make a reservation for their special day. Failure to abide by those rules may result in losing your reservation.

Long-standing annual special events will be reserved in advance of the Park Shelter reservation date. Those 2013 event dates will be posted on the Madison Parks website by November 5, 2012 for the 2013 season.

Important information for 2013:
This new beautiful pavilion is available for rental from March 30 to December 2, 2013. That is a longer season than all of the other reservable shelters.

In the spring of 2013, there will be construction on N. Thornton Ave (the 'driveway' from Sherman Ave to the shelter) from April 1 through Memorial Weekend. There will only be access to the shelter on the weekends beginning at 4p.m. on Fridays. Parking will only be available in the parking lot - not along Thornton Avenue. We suggest that only smaller scale events rent the shelter from March 30 through Memorial Weekend. The parking lot has 38 parking spots. Reserving the shelter, however, does not provide exclusive use of the parking lot. Other park users may be parked in the lot.

Please note that on November 15, full payment for the shelter reservation and permits are due on that day.
