Officers Raise Money For Cancer Research

Officers from the Madison Police Department will race through the an obstacle course throughout the day on Monday (Oct. 29th) to raise money for Justice for the Cure, a facet of the Susan G Komen for the Cure's crusade to end breast cancer in the U.S. and throughout the world through ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy, and programs in more than 50 countries.

Media is invited to join MAPD officers at the South Police District parking lot located at 825 Hughes Place for some excellent photo opportunities.

TIMED COMPETITION COURSE

1. Uniform Station
Timer begins when participant enters their appropriate locker room: dress in uniform shirt, pants, shoes, and belt with at least keepers (It is not recommended to compete in the uniform you are going to wear for the day. See #3.)

2. Bicycle Station
Negotiate serpentine on tiny BMX-style bicycle.

3. Coffee and Donut Station
Eat two powdered donuts and drink cup of (room temperature) coffee.

4. Squad Box Station
After an abrupt stop in your squad, your squad box has dumped on the floor. Get everything back in the squad box and zip it up.

5. Mail Run Station
Run the much overdue mail to the finish line, timer stops when participant and all items are across the finish line.

Officers' entry fees will be donated to Justice for the Cure. Prizes will be awarded for:

• Fastest Female
• Fastest Male
• Fastest Team

Prizes were donated by Dunkin Donuts, Cargo Coffee and Culver's.
