Narrative:

Five people were displaced when a fire damaged their home on the 6300 block of Hartford Dr. Monday morning.  Fire units were dispatched to a working structure fire at 8:34 a.m. following multiple calls to 911.

Engine Co. 7 arrived on scene first at 8:40 a.m. and reported that the home was fully involved with fire on the exterior as well as the interior. Crews began an aggressive exterior fire attack with hand lines, and Ladder Co. 7 extended an aerial platform to access fire that had spread to the attic. Crews were then able to transition to an interior attack and extinguish the fire. Initial knockdown was achieved at 8:59 a.m.

Four people were home at the time of the fire, and all were able to safely escape the home without injury.

Fire damage was severe and extended from the first floor and into the attic. Fire also damaged the siding of the home next door. The fire required thousands of gallons of water to extinguish.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not yet available.
