Narrative:
MFD was met by UW Security and UWPD at 1630 Linden Drive, where a security guard reported smelling smoke. Just as he as about to re-enter the building to investigate, alarms began to sound.
The building’s alarm panel directed Engine Co. 4 to the basement, and a worker in the building joined the crew to where the fire was believed to be. Firefighters located a small fire and were able to extinguish it with two and a half gallons of water. The room suffered heat and smoke damage as a result, but nobody was injured. Ladder Co. 1 ventilated the basement, and the MFD Fire Investigation Team responded to look into what might have caused the fire.
