Fire Department

Separate witnesses called 911 to report a “building on fire” on the 800 block of East Main Street. Engine Company 3 and a full structure fire response were dispatched at 9:47 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find fire spreading to a wooden fence and some vehicles parked near the fence.

Engine 3 promptly extinguished the main body of the fire, then proceeded to the other side of the fence to put a stop to the fire spreading to the nearby vehicles. Meanwhile, Ladder Company 1 checked for other exposures and put out any remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
