Fire Department

The Madison Fire Department was called to Lake Mendota early Friday morning after a bystander discovered a person unresponsive on the lake ice. Engine Company 1 and Medic 4 responded to the area, and the patient was retrieved from the ice and brought into the ambulance. Resuscitative efforts were performed en route to UW Hospital. The MFD has no further updates on the patient’s condition at this time. The Madison Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
