Engine Company 8 responded to a fully involved vehicle fire along westbound Highway 30 Friday afternoon. The driver reports he was traveling south on I-94 when he noticed smoke coming into the cab of his vehicle through the dash area. He was able to remove some personal belongings from the vehicle before the fire spread. A gas-powered generator and some containers of flammable liquid which were being transported in the vehicle at the time were among the items that contributed to fire spread. The driver reports the vehicle had mechanical issues recently but was not insured.
