Arrival:
Saturday, November 3, 2018 - 11:46pm
Address:
2700 block University Avenue
Madison, WI
Narrative:

A local delivery driver was picking up the next order ready to go when she came out of the restaurant to find something “glowing” in the headlight of her car—and it wasn’t the headlight. Soon it was apparent that the front end of her vehicle was on fire.

The fire was still confined to the engine compartment when Engine Company 9 arrived to the parking lot of Wings Over Madison (2739 University Ave.). The crew had to force open the hood before extinguishing the fire with water and foam. The fire was caught before it could spread to the passenger area.

The owner of the vehicle didn’t know of any recent issues and said the only service done to it lately was an oil change and filter replacement a few weeks ago. The cause of the fire is unknown.
