Fire Department

Engine Company 3 responded to the scene of a reported gas leak at 1150 E. Mifflin Street. Upon arrival, firefighters were informed that a gas line had been cut and had been flowing for about 20 minutes prior to the 911 call.

Engine Company 3 began knocking on doors to evacuate all residents in a 500-foot radius. MPD responded to keep traffic out of the area.

After the leak was capped, firefighters ventilated the home until air monitors indicated the scene was safe.
