Bird & Nature Outing - Starkweather Creek area, October 20
**10/19 UPDATE: Due to high waters & marginal bridge clearance, this event has been modified to a nature walk beginning from the same location - 3402 Atwood Ave. Canoeing the creek is only recommended for experienced paddlers.**
Nature lovers, families, and kids all welcome! Friends of Starkweather Creek Co-Chair (and Starkweather native) Carl Landsness and others will lead a holistic tour & discussion. Free, family-friendly, no registration required, no pets, please. Meet at the Olbrich Park Boat Launch - near the ball diamonds (across the street from Lake Monona - 3402 Atwood Avenue).
Outings in the Starkweather Creek area begin 10:00am at the Goodman Community Center, unless noted otherwise and are held the 3rd Saturday of every month, year-round. Outings include nature walks, canoe/kayak adventures, bicycling tours and more, and are sponsored by the Madison Friends of Urban Nature, Madison Parks, Goodman Community Center, Madison Audubon Society, and Friends of Starkweather Creek.
