Driver Pinned, Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash

Multiple 911 callers reported a serious single-car crash on the 200 block of Cottage Grove Road, near Monona Drive, just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Madison Fire Department was dispatched to provide EMS for the driver, who was also pinned inside the vehicle.
When paramedics arrived on scene at 7:29 p.m., they found the vehicle resting on the driver’s side with the engine still running and wheels spinning. Paramedics were able to reach inside the vehicle to put it in park and turn off the engine.
Engine Company 5 and Ladder Company 8 stabilized the vehicle, cut and removed the roof, and extricated the driver from the vehicle. Paramedics transported him to UW Hospital.
Madison Police remained on scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
