6000 block Research Park Blvd.

Narrative:

Occupants of nearby buildings on the 6000 block of Research Park Boulevard were advised to steer clear of a power pole located outside, which had started on fire.

Ladder Company 2 responded to the area to find a fire about 30 feet above, where a number of cables come together. There was a small amount of smoke and flames and about 50 feet of space between the power pole and two nearby buildings. Firefighters advised occupants of both buildings to avoid the pole and its wires.

As MGE arrived on scene, the fire extinguished itself, though smoke continued to emanate from the pole. MGE technicians stated they would take over, and no further fire protection was needed form Ladder Company 2.
