Only moments after parking his Toyota RAV4 outside his Eagle Heights residence, a man looked out the window to find his SUV on fire. Engine Company 9 was summoned to the parking lot, where they found fire showing from the RAV4's engine compartment. Firefighters applied a water-foam concentrate to the vehicle, putting a stop to the fire.

The RAV4 suffered significant damage to the engine compartment, some melting of components in the dash area, and smoke damage throughout the passenger compartment. A vehicle parked next to the SUV suffered minor damage to the paint and headlight.

The owner of the SUV said he had just parked it ten minutes prior to placing the 911 call but had not experienced any electrical or mechanical issues while operating it. The cause of the fire is unknown.
