Business at Charming Charlie, located inside West Towne Mall, suffered no interruption despite a water leak that employees feared might pose an electrical hazard.

Ladder Company 2 responded to the retail store Saturday afternoon after store employees discovered a water leak in the front of the store. The slow water drip from the ceiling was found about one foot away from a light and approximately eight inches away from an electrical outlet.

Firefighters climbed into a scuttle hole above the front entrance and found the leak coming from the roof above. The crew shut off electrical breakers feeding the specific lights and outlet in that area. There was still adequate lighting in the store and the temporary shutdown did not pose any safety risks to shoppers.

Employees were asked to keep these breakers off until the leak is repaired and the water cleaned up. Mall security and mall maintenance were all notified of the concerns and the need for repairs.
