Arrival:
Thursday, July 13, 2017 - 1:58pm
Address:
E. Washington Ave. & Baldwin St.
Madison, WI 53703
Narrative:

Six children, approximately 9-10 years old, were transported to area hospitals after the transportation van they were in rear-ended another vehicle on East Washington Ave. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Ladder Company 1 was driving through the area when Madison Police flagged them down because the front end of the van began to smoke. Firefighters determined the smoking was caused by coolant coming in contact with the hot motor. There was no fire.

Meanwhile, the children began reporting minor injuries resulting from the crash, and two ambulances were sent to the scene. All children reporting injury were taken to area ERs. The children were under the supervision of adult chaperones; their parents were not present at the time.
