Fire Department

The Madison Fire Department responded to United Brick and Fireplace following witness reports of an air conditioning unit on fire on the roof.

Medic 2 was first on scene and saw no smoke or flames. Engine 9 arrived shortly after. After ensuring the interior of the store was all clear, firefighters climbed to the roof, where they found the power box to a single air conditioning unit charred. The crew's thermal imaging camera indicated the box was hot, but it was no longer burning, arcing, or smoking.

Firefighters advised the store owner to seek repairs and keep the air conditioner's breaker fuse turned off.
