Arrival:
Tuesday, January 17, 2017 - 9:07am
Address:
3100 block E. Washington Ave.
Madison, WI
Narrative:

The Madison Fire Department was called to the Aloha Inn Motel on East Washington Ave. for reports of smoke showing near the pool area.

Engine Company 10, Ladder Company 8 and Engine Company 8 found light smoke inside a room near the pool. The smoke did not trigger the building’s alarms, so firefighters activated the pull station to prompt an evacuation.

Ladder 8 pinpointed the source of the smoke to a floor outlet. They further discovered that water was getting into the outlet cover due to a leak in the ceiling which saturated the carpet. Power to the outlet was shut down.

Property management was advised to have an electrician service the outlet before turning power back on, and that they would need to have the roof looked at.
