Dispatch:
Friday, December 16, 2016 - 1:02am
Arrival:
Friday, December 16, 2016 - 1:06am
Address:
200 block Langdon Street
Madison, WI
Narrative:

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Langdon Street for fear of a fire in one of the apartments there. Upon arrival, Ladder Company 1 saw no indications of smoke or fire from the outside. A resident opened the front door and directed the crew to the apartment where they could hear an audible alarm and smelled something burning.

Firefighters received no answer when they knocked on the door, and this came after multiple attempts by a neighbor to reach somebody inside. A firefighter kicked open the door, and the crew found pizza rolls burning in a toaster oven. Nobody was home at the time.

The pizza rolls were removed, and Engine Company 1 assisted with ventilating the apartment and hallway. The apartment was turned over to security officers, who were making arrangements to secure the apartment until the tenant returned.
