Narrative:

Firefighters were called to a residence on Sycamore Ave. after an occupant there was confronted with a small oven fire.

The occupant used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. There was still a heavy haze in the air as Engine Company 8 entered the home. Though the fire was out, the oven was coated with burned food residue and fire extinguishing agent. Damage was contained to the inside of the oven.

Firefighters ventilated the home with a fan before allowing the occupant back inside. They also pointed out that there were no smoke detectors in the home, and the resident said she would be in contact with her landlord about it.

Nobody reported being injured or feeling sick as a result of the incident.
