A downtown apartment building was evacuated after a gas leak was discovered in a third-floor unit.
 
MG&E was already on scene when Engine Company 1 arrived. MG&E confirmed there were explosive levels of gas found in one of the apartments, and the building was being evacuated. Firefighters checked the building one more time to make sure it was evacuated. As MG&E turned off the gas supply to the building, Engine 1 set up a fan to ventilate the building, and the third-floor apartment, until both were safe to occupy again.
 
MG&E remained there to continue working on repairs.
