Head Start child care at 2206 S. Park Street was evacuated briefly when a staff member reported the smell of something burning in a restroom.

Ladder 6 and Medic 6 checked the room and found a light fixture that wasn’t working. An on-site maintenance staff member said he would replace the unit.

A thermal imaging camera did not show any increased heat in the bathroom or adjacent area. Firefighter also checked areas above and below the bathroom, and nothing was found. The fire alarm panel also indicated no existing problems.
