Address:
100 Craig Ave.
Madison, WI
Narrative:

Engine 9 was dispatched for a carbon monoxide alarm sounding.  Upon arrival, the alarm had stopped sounding, but the crew’s Sensit monitor had readings of 26ppm.  The water heater, oven, and furnace were all checked and run with no increase in CO.  MG&E was requested to respond.  The occupant had used a charcoal grill approximately five hours earlier, which was cool to the touch and was not giving off CO at the time of Engine 9’s investigation.  The source could not be located, the house was ventilated, and the CO readings went down to 0ppm. The doors were then closed, whereupon the levels of CO increased to around 3ppm.  MG&E arrived and was briefed, and Engine 9 was released.
