HazMat Team Clears Home Of Indoor Irritant
Madison, WI
The Madison Fire Department was dispatched to the 6300 block of Landfall Dr. after residents reported experiencing symptoms related to possible irritant inhalation. Medic 2 was the first to arrive and found the residents awaiting them outside. Ladder 2 arrived next and confirmed no additional patient care was needed before they safely entered the residence with a carbon monoxide and natural gas monitor.
Following additional air tests, the MFD HazMat team was called in to assist. After four safe entries into the home for further investigation, wearing full protective gear and breathing apparatus, they determined the source and mitigated the problem.
All homeowners were able to return to the residence safely. No firefighters or citizens were injured.
