Warmer weather will cause winter recreation venues to start deteriorating this weekend, but until the snow and ice melts or gets too unsafe to use, Madison rinks, ski trails and sledding hills will be open.

Outdoor Ice Rinks: Vilas Park, Tenney Park, Elver Park, Olbrich, Garner Park, Warner Park and Westmorland Park ice rinks are open tonight. Elver, Tenney and Vilas rinks have skate rentals, concessions and are open weekends from 11:00a.m. - 9:30p.m. and weekdays from 2:00p.m.-9:30p.m. Garner, Olbrich, Warner and Westmorland ice rinks have a warming house and lights and are open weekends from 1:00p.m.-8:45p.m. and weekdays from 4:00p.m.-8:45p.m.

Ski Trails: Elver Park and Odana Hills Ski Trails were groomed this past week. Elver Park has ski rentals available weekends from 11:00a.m.-9:30p.m. and weekdays from 4:30p.m. - 9:30p.m. and Odana Golf Course has ski rentals available weekends from 8:30a.m.-4:30p.m.

Sledding hills are located in Warner Park, Berkley Park, Olbrich Park, Heistand Park and Elver Park. Parks Staff reminds everyone to have fun, be safe and respect your fellow sledders. Bring your own sleds. Keep a safe distance from others when sledding. Exit the bottom of the hill as quickly as possible. Walk up the hill using the side of the hill. And remember, the use of the sledding hill is at your own risk.
