Deadline for Compactor Naming Suggestions is June 7, 2022

The deadline to submit your suggestions to name the trash and recycling compactors at our Sycamore Avenue drop-off site is June 7, 2022.

We have received nearly 400 individual name suggestions so far. The suggestions have been great. They’ve ranged from clever puns of celebrities and historical figures to pop culture references and everything in between. We look forward to seeing even more names before the deadline.

And, yes, we have received Trashy McTrashface.

Send your naming suggestions to dropoff@cityofmadison.com. They will be added to our growing list of names.

After the June 7 deadline, the list of names received will be pared down to a group of finalists. The selected finalists will then be pitted against each other in a final vote for the public to choose the name of the compactors. More details regarding the final vote process will be announced later.
