May 26, 2009 - Madison, WI - Teens from the Madison area will have the chance to compete for the title of Super Smash Bros. Brawl champion this summer at multiple Madison Public Library locations.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a popular fighting game made for the Nintendo Wii. Beginning on Friday, June 19, gamers will have the opportunity to play against each other in head-to-head competition at six weekly qualifying rounds. The top three players from each library will be invited to compete in the championship event on Wednesday, July 29, 5:30 p.m. at the Central Library (201 W. Mifflin Street, 266-6346). Registration for the qualifying rounds is recommended and is available online or by calling the specific library two weeks prior to the event. Qualifying rounds as follow:

• Friday, June 19, 2:00 p.m. at the Pinney Branch (204 Cottage Grove Road, 224-7100)
• Wednesday, June 24, 2:00 p.m. at the Sequoya Branch (4340 Tokay Blvd., 266-6385)
• Wednesday, July 1, 2:00 p.m. at the Alicia Ashman Branch (733 N. High Point Rd., 824-1780)
• Wednesday, July 8, 2:00 p.m. at the Hawthorne Branch (2707 E. Washington Ave., 246-4548)
• Wednesday, July 15, 2:00 p.m. at the Meadowridge Branch (5740 Raymond Rd., 288-6160)
• Wednesday, July 22, 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Branch (2845 N. Sherman Ave., 246-4547)
