The Streets Division drop-off sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd and 4602 Sycamore Ave. will be closed on Tuesday, February 12. The sites will re-open for winter hours on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 a.m. Staff used for drop-off site services will be reassigned to snow-related tasks.

The drop-off sites have been closed out of an abundance of caution for the public.

Besides offering drop-off recycling services, the Streets Division sites are also the locations where Streets stores salt and sand for winter events. During winter weather events like today, heavy equipment from Streets and other agencies make frequent trips to the drop-off site to load with material. Also, deliveries of salt and sand are commonplace during winter events. The drop-off sites can be dangerous for regular motor vehicles and drop-off site users when there is significant heavy equipment traffic like what is expected today.

The drop-off sites will re-open for standard winter hours at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 13.
