To celebrate Wisconsin Transit Week, join Mayor Soglin on his morning commute to work and discuss your thoughts on transit in Madison.

The Mayor is interested in hearing rider's input on certain public transportation topics, such as whether our community should invest in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), or pursue the formation of a Regional Transit Authority (RTA), and anything else you'd like to discuss related to transit.

The Mayor, along with Metro Transit General Manager Chuck Kamp, will board Metro's eastbound Route 6 on Mineral Point Rd. at Westmorland Blvd. (ID #2325) at 8:25 AM.

Mayor Soglin's transit listening session coincides with Wisconsin Transit Week. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin (TDA) have partnered to promote and celebrate transit systems across the state this week. Wisconsin alone has 81 public transit systems that provide public transportation options for over 55% of the state's population.

During the week, riders are encouraged actively participate via social media by sharing transit stories and answering questions. To join in on the conversation, riders can tweet using #WITransit, and answer daily questions posted at witransitweek.com.
