The City and its contractors were able to finish the reconstruction work at the Atwood Avenue-Fair Oaks Avenue-Maple Avenue intersection ahead of schedule. Instead of the originally scheduled date of August 1, the street will be reopened around 3 PM today (July 26, Thursday), before peak afternoon traffic hours.

A number of changes have been made at the intersection, including the following two:
• the southbound entrance to Maple Avenue will be limited to bike traffic only
• a NO TURN ON RED (7AM to 6PM, Monday to Friday) restriction will be placed on traffic turning right from westbound Atwood Avenue to northbound Fair Oaks Avenue.

These changes were implemented with the reconstruction project following a successful test before the construction.

Motorists are welcomed back to the intersection, and reminded to obey the new restrictions.
