All streets within the Outer Loop Construction zone are expected to fully reopen later today, including Fairchild Street between West Washington Avenue and Hamilton Street.

Motorists and bicyclists will notice a new treatment of the peak hour travel lane (4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday) on Doty Street between Hamilton and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. During non-peak hour travel times, the roadway will operate as it did previously with a parking lane on the left side of the roadway, two travel lanes in the middle, and a parking lane on the right side of the roadway with bicyclists operating on the left side of the parking lane.

During the peak hour operation, motorists will have a parking lane on the left side of the roadway, three travel lanes, and a bicycle lane along the right side curb. Parking is removed from the right side of the roadway as it was previously. This treatment leaves a larger parking lane for Metro buses when they are detoured from the Capitol Square and also provides a bicycle facility during the peak hour travel times on Doty Street.

Signs will be placed at the beginning of the blocks detailing the roadway configuration at the different times of the day. Electronic overhead signs will be added in the near future that will change during the day to help motorists, bicyclists, and parkers identify the lane use during that timeframe. Please see the attached graphic for the lane configurations in the direction of travel during non-peak and peak hours of the day.
