The City of Madison Transit and Parking Commission (TPC) will hold a public hearing to consider Legis. File #05539, amending Section 12.1385(54) and creating Section 12. 1517(12) of the Madison General Ordinances, to remove a portion of Broom Street from the Residential Daytime Parking Permit program and establish it as a combination two-hour and 25-minute parking meter zone.

The hearing will be held in Room 260 of the Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., as part of the regular monthly meeting of TPC scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, 2007, starting at 5PM.

The proposed changes will affect the east side of Broom Street from Mifflin Street to Washington Avenue, and are intended to accommodate the need for short-term parking in an area that is becoming a mixed-use commercial and residential area.

Introduced by Alder Mike Verveer on February 7th, the Common Council referred this item to the TPC in order to hold a public hearing and to make its recommendation regarding the proposal. Members of the public may submit oral or written comments about the proposed changes to the TPC at this hearing.
