MADISON, WI - Madison Public Library will distribute free eclipse glasses in preparation for Saturday’s solar eclipse.

Glasses will be available at all nine Madison Public Libraries, from Thursday, October 12 through Saturday, October 14 during all open hours or while supplies last.

In addition, the library will partner with UW Space Place (2300 S. Park St.) to help host their Solar Eclipse Viewing Party on Saturday, October 14 from 10:30am-1:30pm.  According to an event listing posted on the UW Space Place web site, “In lieu of our regular Saturday morning workshop, we will be setting up telescopes with solar filters outside the Atrium for viewing the partial solar eclipse. We will also have eclipse glasses available for safe viewing. In case of rain or clouds here in Madison, we will live stream the event from one that has clear skies.”
