Statement from the Madison Mayor's Office and the City of Madison Parks Division:
The Madison Mayor's Office and the City of Madison Parks Division has learned that the James Madison Parks sunbather passed away at a local hospital. Madison Mayor Paul Soglin and Madison Park Superintendent Kevin Briski stated they are deeply saddened by the news of her passing. Their thoughts and prayers go out to her family as well as to the Parks employee driver.

Madison Parks is cooperating fully with the Police investigation of the accident and will conduct an internal safety review. Madison Parks will not be commenting further until the investigation is complete.
