Reminder that Yard waste Sites Close on Sunday

The City of Madison will continue the fall leaf collection in spite of the snow that fell on Sunday evening and Monday morning. The 1.5" of snow that fell is not enough to stop the Streets Division's crews from getting to leaf piles.

"Our collection will be curtailed this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday and the need to assign staff to snow and ice control operations today," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "We will not be collecting leaves on Thursday and Friday due to the holiday. Collection on Wednesday will be cut back due to the double collection of refuse and recycling in both the Wednesday and Thursday collection districts."

Madison residents may wish to consider bringing their leaves to one of the three drop off site for disposal. The sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd., 4602 Sycamore Av., and 402 South Point Rd. The sites are open the following hours;

Monday 11/24 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday 11/25 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday 11/26 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday 11/27 Closed
Friday 11/28 Closed
Saturday 11/29 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday 11/30 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The sites will close for the season on Sunday 11/30. Yard waste cans still be brought to the sites at 4602 Sycamore Av and 1501 W. Badger Rd after the 30th, but the sites are open winter hours that are M-F from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The South Point Rd. site will not be open after 11/30.
