Hawthorne Library (2707 E. Washington Ave.) has closed due to a power outage. All programs for the day have been canceled.

Library customers who cannot visit another library may use the library remotely by using LINKcat to place holds, check library card records, or renew items. Library items may also be renewed by calling Telecirc (608-242-4700) or any open library. The library's databases and downloadable audiobooks and eBooks are also accessible 24/7 with a library card.

Hawthorne Library users should check the library’s web site at https://www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/hawthorne or call the library at 608-246-4548 before visiting on Wednesday, June 15, to check that power has been restored.

All other libraries remain open regular hours and have air conditioning for those seeking shelter from extreme weather.
