Thanks to Goodman's Jewelers the first 500 kids receive FREE admission!

Goodman’s Jewelers, will be sponsoring the day by providing free admission to the first 500 kids to come to the pool on Thursday, June 18, beginning at 1:00 pm. It is also Pepsi Day with live Z104 remote and samples of two new flavors of Mountain Dew Kickstart Hydrating Boost from 1:00 - 3:00pm.
 
“Goodman’s Jewelers is proud to continue the tradition in honor of Irwin and Robert Goodman on the opening day of this beautiful pool to sponsor the first 500 kids,” says John Hayes, owner of Goodman’s Jewelers. “We wish you all a great summer.”
 
Irwin and Bob Goodman were long-time supporters of many organizations in Madison, including Madison Parks.  Their donation of $2.8 million for the construction of the pool was needed impetus to get a pool built in Madison.  Even after the pool was built, they continued to support it by establishing a scholarship fund.  Hundreds of children, regardless of their income level, have learned how to swim at Madison Parks Goodman Pool.
 
“The generous spirit of Irwin and Robert Goodman continues through the Goodman Foundation by supporting the Goodman Pool Scholarship program,” says Eric Knepp, Madison Parks Superintendent. "We are privileged that Goodman Jewelers will follow in this generous spirit by sponsoring the first 500 kids to come through the gate on opening day at the pool."
 
Established in 1933 by Bob and Irwin Goodman, Goodman's Jewelers is Madison's oldest full service jewelry store. In 1998 long-time employee John Hayes purchased Goodman's Jewelers from the Goodman Brothers. After 80 years, the store remains at its original location on historic State Street, just two blocks from the State Capital.
 
The Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Pool, located at 325 W. Olin Ave, offers recreation swim, lap swim, lessons and the Waves Swim Team program. The pool is open daily throughout the summer.
