The 2007 Spring Election will take place while the Madison Metropolitan School District, UW-Madison, Edgewood College, and Madison Area Technical College are all on Spring Break. The Office of the Madison City Clerk is offering extended hours for voter registration and absentee voting, to accommodate voters who will not be in Madison on Election Day.

Electors may register and vote absentee in the City Clerk's Office during the following hours:
• 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, through Friday, March 23
• 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24
• 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, through Thursday, March 29
• 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 30
• 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31
• 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 2

Because pre-registration closed on March 14, the only place you can register to vote before April 3 is in the City Clerk's Office. The only place you can register to vote on Election Day is at your polling place.

Absentee ballots will be mailed to registered voters who have submitted an absentee request that contains their name, Madison address, address to which the ballot should be mailed, and signature. The deadline for requesting that an absentee ballot be sent to you by mail is Thursday, March 29. Requests can be sent to City Clerk, City-County Building Room 103, 210 Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd., Madison, WI 53703. A request form can be found online at http://www.cityofmadison.com/clerk/voterAbsentee.cfm.
