On May 7, 2018, Michael Johnson, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County (BGC), announced his resignation after eight years of exemplary leadership to the organization. In his capacity as President and CEO, Mr. Johnson has impacted the lives of several children and families in the Madison metropolitan area and his presence will be sorely missed.

During his tenure as CEO of BGC, Mr. Johnson implemented a signature college preparatory program through a partnership with the Madison Metropolitan School District that produced graduation rates of over 85 percent for eight consecutive years, and a five-year plan that doubled the number of children and families served by the clubs across South Central Wisconsin.

I would like to congratulate Michael Johnson on his new position at the United Way of Cincinnati and wish him continued success on his next venture. I would also like to thank him sincerely for his contributions to the residents of Madison and neighboring areas and congratulate Mr. Rod Mitchell on assuming the role of Interim President and CEO.
