The City and its contractors are planning to begin construction on Atwood Avenue and S. Fair Oaks Avenue on Monday, June 18th. The project will consist of the installation of sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, the spot replacement of concrete curb and gutter, drive aprons and new asphalt pavement. To facilitate the construction, the intersection of Atwood Avenue-Fair Oaks Avenue-Maple Avenue will be closed to through traffic.

Signed detours will be provided for westbound and eastbound Atwood Avenue traffic. The westbound Atwood Avenue detour follows Atwood Avenue to Walter Street to Milwaukee Street to E. Washington Avenue to S. First Street and then back to Winnebago Street. The eastbound Atwood Avenue detour follows Eastwood Drive to S. First Street to E. Washington Avenue to Milwaukee Street to Walter Street and then back to Atwood Avenue.

Access to all businesses will be maintained. Sidewalk on at least one side of the street will be open at all times. Motorists are encouraged to use other alternative arterial routes to avoid delay during this project.
